Bangkok vacation and travel information
Travel information for a Bangkok vacation about arrival and onward travel, the bus stations and train stations. Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, the land of smiles. In the big city there are next to city parks and other beautiful sights.
Good and cheap hotel recommendations
For a longer holiday in Bangkok, there are several ways to stay overnight. For a long-term vacation in Thailand, I recommend you to rent a house or apartment. If you only travel to Bangkok for a few weeks and days, you can take a closer look at the following hotels.
- Hotel at Chatuchak night market. A very cheap and good hotel close to Chatuchak night market, the Mo Chit bus station and easy access to the BTS Skytrain is G9Bangkok.
- Cheap hotel at Lumphini Park in Bangkok. Bed & Breakfest S Bloc Saladaeng.
- Looking for a hotel in the Nana Plaza red light district. A very nice hotel in Soi 2 is that iCheck inn.
Bus stations in Bangkok
There are three bus stations in the capital of Thailand. In the south of the city is the Sai Tai Mai Bus Station or Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal. To the east is the Ekkamai Bus Station or Eastern Bus Terminal. Finally, we have the Mo Chit bus station in the north, also called Chatuchak.

The journey by plane to Bangkok
There are two international airports in the capital. Don Mueang is the older one and is located in the middle of Bangkok. Since 2006, Suvarnabhumi Airport has opened in the southern part of the city. From there, you can get to Pattaya, Rayong and Koh Chang in the province of Trat a bit faster.
The Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok
Those traveling to Thailand on a Bangkok vacation will most likely end up at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. At the airport you have the possibility to travel by bus or taxi. The buses and taxis are located after the baggage claim on the right side in the 1st floor.

Experience nightlife and sights of Bangkok
If you are planning a trip to the capital of Thailand you should have a look what you can experience in Bagnkok.
Thailand’s popular night markets for shopping and eating. Many vacationers are drawn to the beautiful and eclectic night markets, where you can buy great souvenirs and Thai specialties. Above all, the very good Thaländische and versatile food attracts Thailand lovers. In the streets of Thailand you can see a lot of stands on wheels. Many Thai people own such a mobile kitchen for noodle and rice dishes.
Nana Plaza red light district
Many Thailand vacationers go to the bars and clubs to the beautiful Thai women every year. The only slightly and very attractively dressed bar girls are the highlight for many travelers to Thailand. The Nana Plaza red light district in the Khlong Tan district also has many bars, strip clubs and poolside establishments. Although many tourists are there just for the bar girls, there are also beer bars with good live music for a nice evening. The world is small! So one meets also in Thailand many German tourists in the tourist areas. So do not be afraid to unlearn the German language.
The Chatuchak night market in Bangkok
The very popular weekend night market is close to Queen Sirikit Park and Mo Chit Bus Station. It is a must to visit this market on a Bangkok vacation. A good travel tip in advance is that you should take care of your valuables. It is best to take your backpack by packing the purse on your stomach. I always have my fanny pack around for my travels.
