Thailand travel and vacation in Pattaya
For a good Pattaya vacation you should know the sights and destinations. In my Thailand travel blog you will learn how to travel the cheapest and what to look for. In the picture to the left you see the Pattaya bay with the Pattaya beach. At the rear skyscrapers or hotels is the Wongamat beach. There, the water is a bit more beautiful for swimming than on Pattaya Beach and there are no speedboats on Wongamat beach.
Getting to Pattaya by bus from the airport
The cheapest way is to take the bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok to Pattaya. The journey lasts up to 2 hours depending on travel time and season. Bus stops at three stations in Pattaya. The first bus stop is at Naklua on Sukhumvit Road. From there you can take a scooter driver to Naklua Road and your hotel. Next, the bus stops in Central Pattaya but also outside on Sukhumvit Road. The last stop is in Jomtien. Possibly. If the bus also stops at other stations, I would ask there at the ticket office in Bangkok.
Good and cheap hotels for a Pattaya vacation
The right hotel for the right Pattaya vacation. If you are planning a long-term vacation in Thailand, I recommend renting a house or apartment.
Good hotels in Pattaya Naklua
- A reasonably priced and very nice hotel with a large pool on Naklua Road is this Lek Hotel.
- The Woodlands Hotel & Resort is also located in Naklua and near the Terminal 21 shopping center.
Cheap Hotels in Central Pattaya
Pattaya Naklua and the fish market Lan Po
On a Pattaya holiday you should definitely visit the Naklua fish market Lan Po at the end of Naklua Road. There you can buy your fish and fresh fruits fresh and let barbecue directly at the market. The beautiful lawn at the fish market is ideal for a cozy dinner. To get good and cheap crabs and fish you should visit the market before 18 o’clock. Mostly, the barbecue takes 45 minutes anyway.
Terminal 21 shopping mall in Pattaya Naklua
Central Festival in Central Pattaya
At Hilten Hotel in the heart of Pattaya City, the shopping center is located between Soi 8 and Soi 9 on Beach Road. At the Second Road, which leads back the street, there is a bazaar with music and food in the evening.
A must on a Pattaya vacation is the night market
Across the street towards Soi 12 is Pattaya Night Bazaar. The shops at Pattaya Night Bazaar open at 12 noon.
Mike Shopping Mall
The Mike Shopping Mall with the green hulk at the entrance on Beach Road is currently under renovation (2019). You can still shop there on the first floor and in a few other stores.
The Soi 6, Soi 7 and Soi 8 from Pattaya
Many Thailand travelers prefer it in the bars and clubs of Soi 6 on the Beach Road. The beautiful and slightly dressed Thai bar girls attract many tourists every year to Thailand. On the Beach Road as well as in the Soi 7 and Soi 8 there is always good music for a cozy evening in the bars.
Bars and German restaurants on Naklua Road
There are several German restaurants in the Naklua Road near the Delpfin gyro. You get very good food in the small Lokar Old Germany and at the Traverne. But there are many others where I ate very well, for example Anton.
Who or what are ladyboys?
In the bars of Thailand also Ladyboys are staying. Ever heard of it? Learn more about it in my travel report.
The Boys Town and the Soi 13
For women and gay men, there is of course something in the Pattaya nightlife. So is in the Soi13.2 the Boys Town. More about it in my other Thailand report.
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden
A worthwhile day trip is to the tropical garden of Pattaya. The Nong Noch Garden is about half an hour’s drive from Pattaya Naklua. Find out more about our trip to the tropical garden and the sights.
Walking Street and nightclubs
Not only bars, strip clubs, pool bars and restaurants linger over the approximately 1km long street. If you are looking for nightclubs on your Pattya vacation, you will find what you are looking for in the well-known Walking Street! Good nightclubs like the Insomnia, the 808 and the pier are located there.
